About The Bridge
A strong community is based on strong communication. With so many different ways to convey information in this digital age, it’s too easy for messages to get lost or unnoticed. After talking to many Cape Ann business owners, we learned that they were relying on traditional forms of promotion in their attempts to reach potential customers. In reality, their efforts were costly and unproductive. To us, there had to be a more efficient and empowering method of connecting, especially on a local level.
We wanted family farms and restaurants to build their brand without breaking the bank; sole proprietors or those working a second job to share the same stage with the biggest companies in town; food pantries and animal shelters to have a platform to discuss their causes; area schools, police, and fire departments the chance to interact directly with the community.
Most importantly, we wanted all of those entities to work side-by-side as part of the same online and offline family.
We wanted common unity. That’s why we built The Bridge.
The Bridge is a meeting place where all of Cape Ann can be seen and heard. It showcases real people, in real time, doing real things. It’s nonprofit groups, businesses, public services, and individuals working together for the benefit of everyone who loves Cape Ann. Since launching in June 2012, we have received encouragement and inspiration from all these facets of our hometown. For that, we are forever grateful. With this continued support and positive energy, we will keep building a bigger and better Bridge in the years to come.
